From the South or Southwest 

Take I-270 North to exit 6B. Follow Rte 28 west over the overpass towards Darnestown. 

From the East 

Follow Rte 28. Go over I-270 at 6B overpass. 

Then

After going over the overpass on Rte 28, start counting traffic lights. First one is just after 
getting over the overpass. The second is at a Shell Station on left. Third is at Research Blvd 
which turns off to the right. Continue on to the fourth light, where there is a sharp left hand 
turn onto Darnestown Road. (There are two left-hand turn lanes). Be sure to turn left to take 
Darnestown Road. Caution: At this light do not continue on straight ahead. Follow Darnestown 
Road, until first traffic light. Turn left onto Glen Mill Road. (There is a left-hand turn lane). 
Follow this road keeping Church on the left. Go over hill. Lakewood Country Club entrance is 
on the left.

From Gaithersburg and the North 

From I-270, at exit 8 take Shady Grove Road west, passing Shady Grove Hospital on right. 
After hospital at next traffic light turn left onto Darnestown Road. (formerly Rte 28 - there is 
a left-hand turn lane). Immediately get into far right-hand for right turn at first traffic light onto 
Glen Mill Road. Pass Church on the left. Go over hill. Lakewood Country Club entrance is 
on the left. 

If south bound I-270 traffic is backed up, get off I-270 at exit 9. Go west on Sam Eig Highway 
to its end. Go left on Great Seneca Highway to its end. Go left on Darnestown Road (formerly 
Rte 28). Go through the Shady Grove Road intersection. Keep right for right hand turn at next 
light at Glen Mill Road. Pass Church on the left. Go over hill. .Lakewood Country Club  
entrance is on the left.
